The Planet Jupiter
Jupiter
The planet Jupiter is one of the most fascinating and awe-inspiring planets. I chose this planet because of the mysteries behind it. I always wanted to write about Jupiter’s land and its mysterious red eye. Who knows what you will find out? If you would like to learn about the “mystery planet” read on.
Jupiter is one of the most interesting planets of all. For example, it has one of the strangest sizes of all… the largest. It is 89 thousand miles (143 thousand kilometers) in diameter. It has a mass of 1,900 quintillion tons and a density of 1.3 grams per cubic centimeter. Don’t forget this; it has a swirly surface of white and orange with 4 natural satellites, moons. They are Ganymede which is the largest, Calisto which is a frozen one, Io which is the volacanic one, and Europa with its liquid frost. The thing that most people recognize is its “big red dot” which is actually just a violent swirling of gasses. This planet’s looks are just the beginning.
Jupiter is also famous for things that people don’t realize. For example, its rotational period is nine hours and fifty-five minutes while its revolution is 11.9 Earth years. You might think Jupiter has a surface, but it doesn’t. It is just gas. On the other hand, the swirls on it are called eddies. It is also one of the planets with a gravitational and magnetic force. Though in ancient Rome, they saw this planet as the king of all gods. Now let’s continue to unravel the mysterious past.
Jupiter has had a mysterious past and shaky future. For example, this gigantic planet was founded in 1610 by my favorite astronomer, Galileo Galilei. I think that is just astonishing considering their primitive technology. From past study, we know that it is a complex planet, it has a gassy surface, it is impossible to land on, and invisible during a certain period of years. On the other hand, we are trying to figure out ways how to land. I personally think that is the dumbest thing I ever heard. Nothing can withstand a force of gravity. Jupiter is now becoming more and more conspicuous.
Jupiter is to me is a “camouflaged" planet. For example, one third of it is a swirl of liquid hydrogen and metallic hydrogen. It also has a cool core of rock. The rocky core has many minerals in it from the periodic table. On the other hand, Jupiter has a magnetosphere and very little atmosphere. It is extremely rare to have a planet with a magnetic force. I find that amazing. Have we now unraveled the mysteries of Jupiter?
So let us recap on Jupiter. We have learned that it is the largest planet in size. We have discovered that the Romans believed it was the king of all roman gods. Don’t forget that Galileo Galilei is the planet’s discoverer. Finally, it is the planet that can crush you with gravity. Congratulations, reader. You are now an expert on Jupiter.
